Senior Pastor G. Alan Browning and his Wife Mary, and history of the Greater Life Apostolic Church…

It was during a Sunday evening church service in 1986 that God began to deal with a young man about his calling to the ministry of serving others and sharing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was a moment where God wanted to show him a vision of preaching to a large crowd in a distant place, and impacting many lives. Alan began to pursue his calling to the ministry, and attended Bible College in the fall of 1987 at Jackson College of Ministries, Jackson, Mississippi to pursue a degree in Religious Studies. Now almost 26 years later God is continuing to fulfill that calling into the ministry.

Alan and Mary Browning were married in April of 1989 and served their pastor and mentor Rev. Gerald L. Vittitow, and their church family Calvary Apostolic Church in Louisville, Kentucky as Sunday School teachers, and as Assistant to the Pastor. During that time they also evangelized part time and Alan held the position as Sectional Secretary Treasurer for Section One of the Kentucky District United Pentecostal Church.

In July 1994 they started the process of building a Home Missions church congregation in Louisville, Kentucky, and in May 1995 the church became autonomous. The church is now known as Greater Life Apostolic Church. Pastor Browning has been Senior Pastor of this thriving and growing congregation since that time. In the year 2009, a fulfillment of a dream came true for both of them that the congregation has now consistently exceeded the 175 mark in attendance for Sunday services, and that they ended their 20 year secular careers as financial bankers to become full/time in the ministry at Greater Life. This allows them to give more of themselves to God, their family, congregation, and ministries.

In addition, Pastor Browning continues to serve in his sixth year as District Secretary Treasurer for the Kentucky District United Pentecostal Church. Pastor and Mary Browning have two beautiful daughters, Bethany who just graduated from University of Phoenix with an Associate’s Degree in Business, and Meghan who always seems to be the life force of the family.
